3-The Archimedes Screw at Sea World?

Here is the photo of two gigantic Archimedes screws I mentioned in class. Click on the photo to enlarge it if you wish.

I thought our lesson on "Water Raising Devices" went quite well, and I hope that you are start to "think about history". (That's a quote from a video I will show you on Tuesday)

Wow that is amazing that the Archimedes Screw is still used today despite our technological advances. At first, I did not understand how something like this could carry water from a low area to a high area. However, I can tell that it can do that from this picture, just by the fact if the screw did not work, the ride would not either. Thank you for posting this picture.
