Pearl Harbor

Ed Johann is a retired firefighter. As a survivor of the attacks at Pearl Harbor Ed has many memories of that fateful day. However, his memories are not pleasant. While he was an apprentice seaman he spotted the Japanese planes flying toward Pearl Harbor. Ed was on a rescue boat that was one of the first to arrive at the scene of the USS Arizona after it had been attacked. When they got to the ship they saw the water filled with bodies some alive some dead, others dying. He and his rescue crew continued to carry as many soldiers as they could back and forth from the hospital. This day that dramatically affected the lives of so many people and families, changed the life of Ed Johann and continues to haunt him to this day.
